Nil Ishan Ibn Al Sakbe wins the EMIRATES AIRLINE STAKES in Hamburg, July 11th 2010

The UAE Dubai Race day, decorated with three attractive purebred Arabian races, was the second event within the 141. German Derby Meeting in Hamburg. The EMIRATES AIRLINE STAKES with a dotation of € 10’000 over a distance of 1’400 meters were dominated by the 4-year old Nil Ishan Ibn Al Sakbe who realized his third victory in his life career .
Nil Ishan Ibn Al Sakbe, carrying top weight with 64 kg, took immediately the lead in the field of the 10 protagonists. From the start, his rider Andre Best was keeping the pace with 3 to 4 length in front of the field. At the beginning of the long finishing line Nil Ishan was attacked by UAE Dynamic (Djel Bon x Bageria) and the Al Sakbe daughter Malissia. Nil Ishan resisted and could speed up on the last 150 meters. He crossed the finish line half a length in front of UAE Dynamic. Malissia was placed third with a neck behind second place. 4th place went to Grande Duchess (Marwan x Gracja) and 5th place to Boogie Woogie (Jaman x Barracuda).

Nil Ishan Ibn Al Sakbe, bred by Nile Arabians and owned by the Glanzmann family, is the second product of the mare Nil Incipit. Nil Ishan’s full sister Nil Insha (Al Sakbe x Nil Incipit) finished her racing career with one win and several places. Nil Ishan got black type status as a three year old with a second place in the Zayed The First Arabian Cup (Listed), Frankfurt 2009. His actual racing record shows 3 wins and 2 second places out of 7 starts. His mother Nil Incipit was a successful race horse at the age of three with two Group 1 places. She got black type with a third place in the Abu Dhabi Championships, Baden-Baden 2000.
