Prince du Nil wins in Vienna, November 2003

At November 1st, 2003, an international Arab Horse Race over 1500 meter for 3-year and older horses took place at the historical race track "Freudenau" in Vienna. A field of 9 horses was running and among them the favorite Takko El Samawi who was finished the last two races as the winner and was trying to achieve his hat trick today.

Prince du Nil is an inexperienced 3-year old gelding bred by Nile Arabians and owned by Mr. Urs Rubin. The race in Vienna was his second life start and trainer Franziska Aeschbacher wanted to give him another race before the end of the racing season.

Although Prince du Nil missed the start by about 8 lengths he was able to close the gap between him and the field after the first 500 meters. After the last bend it was an easy ride for amateur Mrs. Fraisl. On the finishing line Prince du Nil outpaced the remaining horses and won without big effort 11 lengths in front of favorite Takko El Samawi. Prince du Nil (Barour de Cardonne x Nil Nubia by Versal) is a three-quarter brother to Nil Bedouin (Barour de Cardonne x Nil Tahani by Versal) who had also a very successful racing season in 2003 with 1 win 2 second places and a fourth place out of 5 starts.
