| At September 14th, Shadwell Stud of England sponsored in Mannheim (Germany) the “Shadwell-Prize of Europe”, a flat race over 2500 meters for four year old and older Purebred Arabians. Twelve horses from France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland were entered. |
The
race was running at a good speed from the beginning and Nil Bedouin (Barour de
Cardonne x Nil Tahani) found his position in the middle of the field during the
first mile. At the last back straight the six year old Izentespeshal son Ma-Areed,
owned by Dr. Al Redah, was about 6 length ahead of the field. But at the
beginning of the last turn, Nil Bedouin (bred and owned by Nile Arabians) was
able to close the gap and on the home stretch the two stallions were fighting
hardly for the win. The finish photo had to decide and gave the first place to
Ma-Areed tight in front of Nil Bedouin. With this second place in Mannheim the stallion Nil Bedouin is successfully finishing his first racing season. Out of his five starts in Germany, Belgium and Switzerland he could win once, was placed second two times and placed fourth once. |
